Have you ever come across someone you see is in real need of help? But you are unable to offer any help because the help you can offer is too small to the problems the person is in? Well it has happened to me many times and the feeling it leaves is so bad I cry.

Welcome to youth 4 youth, you know it’s great to be a youth, because it happens once in a life time and that’s in your prime. Being a youth is fun you get to do things an adult or a kid can do and you do what they can not do as well. But as much fun as it is most of life’s important decisions are taken at this stage, the friends u keep, your future career ,wife how many kids u would want to have etc It’s because of this and some other things that we set this up. There are many other things but first this is the main reason for this. We the youth of this world have come a long way. We are the largest in the world population and in Ghana. We have problems but since we seem to play a lot of times people don’t see it unless we tell but even that takes same people like us to understand. Some of us have to make our own decisions without help, and it’s not all these decisions that go right for us. Some are so bad we never recover from the problems they bring us, some take a long time to recover whiles some get lucky and change them in time to save them a great trouble. Let’s take those who are not able to recover from these wrong decisions they make.

But imagine all of us coming together with the little helps we can offer, how many times do we see people of our age group I mean the youth partake in activities that are deemed indiscipline and are against the laws of this country, example armed robbery, prostitution , fraud , illegal abortion, examination malpractices . These are just a few of the things we do out of frustration, guilt and loneliness. And most adults blame this on us claiming we do them just for fun or trying to get rich the easy way or simply put they say we have nothing to do with our time, But they are missing the point.

It is true that to be successful in life you’ve got to have a dream, and dreams mean having role models, whiles others look up to the adult next to them for inspiration. But it’s not easy to find good role models or good adults to trust and rely on to achieve our goals, so we resort to do things our way. And that’s when failures set in. But we don’t learn from them so we tend to make the same mistakes over and over again, and when you fail so many times you get frustrated .Frustration means giving up or doing things in a rush which means more mistakes.

But what if, instead of letting frustration set in because there’s no one to guide you or giving up on your self because you seem to have made too many wrong decisions which is bringing you too much trouble, you get to have people who are like you and have been where you are but because they are united in one goal which is helping the youth in need of advice get one. Because no one understands us the youth like we our selves. Imagine us coming together this way, being connected in ideas and discussing our problems. Let’s help those who don’t have jobs get jobs those who are finding it difficult in making life’s decisions make the right ones.

We aim to create a network with the cooperate world where we can leave advance applications with them with the qualifications we have so as incase there is a vacancy we get to tell the members who qualify to proceed. We will leave letters with the ministries cause we are not only helping ourselves we will help any one in need. Our main post will be the orphanages, social welfare homes and the hospitals and also the prisons there are some youth there as well who have repented and are in need of great counseling and the courage to start afresh.

People whose aim is to help you achieve your aims in life so you can in turn help another person in need. People who are united in strength, ideas and in experience because they have been there before. This is the vision of youth 4 youth. Let’s come together and connect so as to help our selves. Let’s show our usefulness. Because we believe that in so doing we can help Bob who is weak in math’s get a pass, we can help yaa who is a prostitute quite prostitution and get a decent job, we can also help James who’s a bright student but is unable to feather his education because of financial difficulties pay his fees or get him a scholarship.

Youth 4 youth is here to help the fallen youth in our societies get a fresh start in life no matter what he or she did and also aid the one already up reach the peak and then look back on those down and help, because as the saying goes what goes up comes down, you never know what the day brings.

We are here to teach the one who wants to learn, for jobs

Any one can join all you need is a big heart, the inkling to help your fellow man in need, teachers can join nurses can join factory hands can join shoe shine can join any one. You don’t have to pay a dime to be a member just like I said all u need is a big heart. And no one will ask u for money just be useful to your community.

ACTIVITIES

As for activities we will take part in anything useful.

Voluntary work: As we all know, not a single year has gone by in the last 5 years when nurses and doctors haven’t threatened to go on strike, and when they finally do, people die. And the only reason they do this is money. They may be right or wrong for asking for better service conditions, but that’s not what we are interested in. Our interest is the sick people who are on admission at the hospitals, what happens to them? The ones at home some times die because they can’t afford the fees to private hospitals others who are already on admission surfer all because there is no one to take care of them, we will be the volunteers at the hospitals and clinics. As I said from the beginning no one is taking money from any one neither are we getting paid for helping. Because no matter the religion or denomination you belong to, your faith is surely against collecting money from sick people.

Let’s move from the hospitals, there are people with aids and malaria. We can help bring the awareness on these things and there’s child trafficking, child labor,

We will work with the orphanages, hospitals, prisons, clean streets etc. take the Ghana aids commission for example, they have lots of work to do but every one wants to be paid just to prevent someone giving them aids, aids is real you can get it from the remotest places. And we the youth are the main carriers, sex to us it like eating we don’t want to eat the same food for long. So we helping bring the awareness for free will not be waste of time and energy. The forestry department wants to plant tree in the country but they don’t have the manpower. The malaria prevention program needs people. Let’s do this not for only our selves but for our children’s children.

Donation: most of us don’t work and we are not doing this for money, but visiting the orphanages and other places once a month and giving the little we can will be ok. Let’s put a smile on a face the little way we can even if it last for 4 hours. There are many orphanages and children homes in this country and we can not reach out to all but as we all know there’s no harm in trying. Those of us who live near by the places can go and teach or even play with the kids that are part of the donation.

Social duties: we are the next generation, what we do today follow us to the future, same thing with things that goes on around us. Most of us see politics as a time wasting topic so we leave it with the older people. And see where we are. Most of us depend on our parents when we should be on our own. And the only reason for that is due to our political ignorance, take the youth of Asia for example they learn to build robots at an early age so they improve their invention skills at their youthful age. In Europe most things adults do here are done by the youth. But we in Africa just copy the happy part of their lives; we want to enjoy life but don’t work for it. Now look where we are, we are left out of the decision making process, we only come in when we feel we have had enough. And that’s always in the election period where we take money from politicians to vote for them, the moneys we take last us for a month then we cry foul because the people we voted for have deviated from their promise to us not the adult population, so we wait for 4 years take money from the new politician ,so you see it goes round and we surfer as always. No wonder Africa is deemed the poorest and the most far behind in almost every thing, and that’s because the usefulness of the youth of a country determines its growth, but we just sit and watch. But instead of taking money from them and leaving that part of our social life to the old or being spectators to this why don’t we get involved in this. It don’t matter which political party is in power let’s poke our noses into their business. Let’s put them in check make them honor their promises to us because he is just one man with the responsibility of taking care of a whole country (our country). For instance if we listen to some of them they are not qualified to even head a school but because they have the money the join the race all because when they dish money around they get our vote. But this time we must say no and fight for our future. So as our motor goes lets get involved.

We at youth 4 youth aim to be a link between the venerable and the donor. But before every thing you the member should know that there is more youth organization out there with different aims and agendas and some of them have been around for a long time now. But we are not trying to be better than them. Neither are we here to change their ways. We are here to work with any one needing our help. First of all our selves then we extend the help to others because as the saying goes charity really begins at home. We must play our part as the next generation and show our usefulness. But we must first have rules in our organization and we will do that when we meet.

We will approach some government agency’s for assistance in executing our goals, as it is now we need to register the group and it will only be after this before any one grants us audience. So registering the group will be our first topic on our first meeting.
